11-4-2014/ANNOUNCEMENTS
Student Council:
#1.   We are in need 3 high school and 3 middle school Student Council members to help Mr. Florsheim with voting at lunch.  Make sure to go help him at the voting table on both lunch hours.  See Mrs. Warner or Mr. Flo for any questions
 
#2.  WEDNESDAY MEETING * AM SHARP.  Students placing Flags for Veterans Day make sure you are there to meet with Mr. Peterson.
 
#3.  Be sure to bring Tshirt money and Fall Convention money.  Fall convention is this Thursday.  We will be wearing our THSIRTS. 
   And finally, be sure to get your missing work for ThursdaySTUDENT COUNCIL STUDENTS attending the fall convention Nov 6th you must be at GHS front door by 7 am for bus.
Upward Bound will not be here until this afternoon today.  Students will be called on an individual basis.
Patrick Johnston will not be in the building today so all MATH corps has been cancelled for today.
Girls Basketball captains practice for grades 7-12 will be Wednesday, Nov. 5th from 7-8AM and Monday,November 10th from 6-8pm.  Girls basketball practice will officially begin Nov. 17th.  See Mr. Adamson if you have any questions.
Key and Builders Club members attending our quarterly Kiwanis meeting today will need to meet at the front of the school precisely at 11:30.  They are Ally Hautala, Shaylee Erdmann, Liam Madsen and Joe Berg.   Also, the Key Club Executive Officers Meeting for tonight has been postponed and rescheduled for next Tuesday, after school at the Youth Center.   Reminder next Thursday, Nov. 13, 9-4, is our Emmy Foss Memorial Blood Drive. The Young Artist Program scheduled for this Wednesday at the Bovey Coleraine Youth Center is rescheduled for next Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Practice for basketball cheerleading tryouts will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school in the Multi-purpose room until 5:30.
Students:  The date for Crystal Ball has been set for Saturday, December 13th.
1) A huge congratulations to Ellyssa Peterson and Noah Cuellar-Axley for their performances at the State Cross Country meet. Noah ran one of his best times of the year on the challenging state course, finishing 150th overall. Ellyssa ran her best time in a State Meet yet and finished in 15th place of 174 in the race. Ellyssa is the first GNK Titan to return from a state competition with 'All-State' Honors for her performance. 
 
2) It's Election Day nationwide. Voting is one of the simplest, yet most important responsibilities all Americans have as citizens of this nation. We're running our own election here at GHS. All students in grades 5-12 will have an opportunity to vote today during lunch in the multi-purpose room. Please find the student council representatives that are assisting during lunch today and they will help you through the voting process.
 
3) All students interested in joining Knowledge Bowl at GHS this winter, please sign up by Friday outside of Mr. Floersheim's room this week. The first practice for this season will be next week already.
Juniors will be taking the ASVAB test Wednesday morning.
Attention students interested in Varsity Hockey Cheerleading
There will be open Ice this Thursday morning 11/6  6:30-8:00am at the arena.
Varsity Hockey Cheer tryouts will be held Saturday Nov 8th from 9:45a-11:15a at the arena
 
Reminder - Middle School & High School WINTER sports Registration is NOW open.
Winter Sports include:  
JV & Varsity Boys & Girls High School Hockey,
Varsity Hockey Cheerleading grades
Boys & Girls Basketball - grades 7-12
Basketball Cheerleading for grades 7-12
GNK Wrestling - grades 6-12
Synchro Swimming - Grades 6-12

WINTER ATHLETIC PLAYER/PARENT MEETINGS WILL BE HELD...
 For JV/Varsity Boys Hockey Player/Parents tonight at 5:00 at the arena
All other Winter Sports Player/Parent Meeting is Thursday Nov 6th at 6:00pm in the GHS Auditorium
Parents and players are asked to attend this meeting to go over athletic and academic policies that have changed for the 14/15 year, and get the opportunity to meet their coaches and AD Staff.

Student and staff remember that we be offering voluntary influenza vaccinations.  The nasal mist or flu shot will be administered at Greenway on Friday, Nov. 7th in the Staff Development room from noon to 1:30PM.  Consent forms for anyone under the age of 18, are available in Student Services.
Senior Picture, baby picture, and senior quote are all due by November 13.  “Remember When's” are due by December 12.
