If you noticed….it’s “SOCKOBER”.  The Greenway Student Council is looking for your socks, and not any grungy ones that you might be wearing.  Yes, we are looking for any new pairs of socks to show a small act of kindness to the homeless in our area. All socks will be donated to the Grace House.  Look for boxes in the following rooms, 5th & 6th/homeroom teacher, 7th: Mrs. Miller, 8th: Ms. Sperling, 9th: Mr. Fort, 10th:  Mrs. Butterfield, 11th:  Mr. Floersheim, 12th:  Mr. Wright, and Staff:  Student Services.  Let’s fill those boxes and I hear there might be a spirit point on the line.

Picture Retakes are next Wednesday, Oct. 10th.  Photos taken in September will be handed out during lunch today.

Kick off assembly will start at 1:30 for grades 9-12 in auditorium today.  You will be dismissed via the intercom.

Monday begins the week with Back to the 80's dress up day and to make sure to listen for the daily clues for the hidden object and the scavenger hunt.

9-12 grades can begin signing up Monday for Powder Puff Football or Floor Hockey (weather permitting) and remember to have only 3 coaches per team.

Reminder to 9-12 grades to get your class banner turned into Student Services by Thursday, October 11 no later than 2:00 PM and remember to include your class year on it and gear it towards the 80's theme. Practice for your class lip sync battle and please let Jen know where to cut your music as these need to be at least 2 minutes long. No more than 6 students per team and each class was given their song to practice.

Good luck to the varsity football team as they head to the other side of the Range to take on the Golden Bears at Eveleth.  Players are dismissed at 2:45. Please sign out in the attendance office prior to leaving.

Also, there is a change from our cross country practice today. Cross Country practice will be in Coleraine today.

Congratulations to the GNK Boys’ Varsity CC team that won the Crosby-Ironton Invitational last evening, while the Girls’ Varsity and Boys’ Junior High teams were both a close second to Brainerd.

Everyone, let’s have a great weekend, and make a difference in someone’s life by BEING KIND.
